About ART Studio 33

Studio 33 is my place of making art in Tasmania. I currently have a residency at the beautiful Quamby Estate, Hagley, where I spend my days completely immersed in art making. I love working in oils, watercolours, acrylics and anything I can grab my hands on to get the look I am after. I am inspired by colour, light and nature how they can bring life on the canvas.

My inspiration comes from the flowers in my garden, the shadows from objects, cafes visits, striped fabrics and so on. I have an obsession of collecting objects from op shops as I want their memory of previous owners to be a part of my work.  

My work is less about perfection and more about a feeling and capturing a type of beauty, warmth, nostalgia and connection. I’m driven to reinterpreting everyday moments, and objects, into compositions that are expressive and contemporary.

Studio 33 is my space for exploring these interpretations — paintings that I hope feel uplifting, full of personality and joy into the spaces they live in.

My hope is that people live with these paintings and think, “I love the warmth, beauty and energy this artwork brings into my home.”
