Gathered Yellow Peonies

Part of my Gathered series, this painting celebrates the beauty of spring and the simple pleasure of bringing flowers from the garden into my studio.

Freshly gathered yellow peonies take centre stage, their generous blooms and rich golden tones contrasting with deep green foliage. Arranged in a simple glass vase, the flowers are brought to life through expressive brushstrokes, layered colour and touches of texture.

A vibrant blue background, softened by passages of white, creates a dramatic setting, while shifting colours and shadows across the tabletop add movement and depth.

Gathered Yellow Peonies captures a fleeting moment of spring — a celebration of colour, light and the everyday beauty found in nature.
