This little painting was inspired by memories of slow mornings in Paris — sitting in a small café with a coffee and warm croissant, watching the world gradually wake up around me. There’s something so simple yet special about those moments when you’re travelling, where even breakfast feels like part of the experience.
I was drawn to the softness of the light, the delicate floral cup, and the beautiful golden folds of the croissant sitting quietly on the plate. Rather than overworking the details, I wanted the watercolour to feel light, relaxed, and almost like a visual diary sketch from the trip.
I often find myself wanting to paint things that simply feel good to me — everyday moments, comforting rituals, favourite foods, beautiful cups, flowers, and objects that hold warmth and familiarity. These kinds of subjects bring me joy while painting, and I hope that sense of calm and happiness carries through into the finished work.
