Floral #1 and Floral #2 can be hung together or purchased as individual.
These two small floral works began with my love of colour and expressive brushwork, particularly the way purple can completely shift the mood of a painting. I wasn’t interested in painting the flowers in a tight or realistic way — instead, I wanted them to feel loose, layered, and full of movement, almost as though the blooms were dissolving into colour and light.
The deep purple vase became the anchor for each composition, allowing the softer lilacs, pinks, whites, and flashes of orange to dance across the surface. I love how purple can feel both rich and calming at the same time, and in these paintings it really became the dominant story — creating atmosphere, warmth, and a slightly contemporary edge.
These works are about the joy of paint itself: energetic marks, unexpected colour combinations, and the beauty found in allowing florals to feel expressive rather than perfect.
