Tea with Meringue and a Cherry

This watercolour painting was inspired by a visit to a lovely café in Tasmania, where a towering slice of meringue topped with rich chocolate and a bright red cherry caught my eye. Paired with a warming cup of tea garnished with a slice of lemon, it felt like one of those simple moments worth savouring.

I was drawn to the contrast of the delicate meringue, the deep chocolate tones and the soft café atmosphere, and wanted to capture the quiet pleasure of taking time out for coffee, cake and conversation.
