Tea with Summer Berries

This watercolour painting was inspired by the simple comfort of a fresh cup of tea on a beautiful summer day, accompanied by a little berry-topped treat.

I loved the contrast between the delicate floral china, the warmth of the tea and the bright colours of the fresh berries and cherries. The soft blues and gentle washes create a feeling of calm and warmth, while the berries bring a cheerful burst of colour.
