The Old Teapot

The old kettle sits amongst a gathering of familiar things around my home— vessels, fruit, flowers, cups and glassware . I wanted to describe the objects precisely and more in what happened when their shapes, colours and lines began to interact.
Rich blues and greens move through the painting, punctuated by flashes of yellow and softened areas of white. Familiar objects become a starting point for exploring colour, energy and the beauty I find in the ordinary things that surround us and often overlooked.
